Jason Wu described his Fall 2011 Winter 2012 high fashion collection as "baroque meets sportswear". Backstage Jason Wu explained that he was inspired by Robert Polidori's book that documented the destruction, reconstruction, and restoration of Versailles in France over a period of 25 years.

Jason Wu brought that French influence into every part of his beautiful Fall 2011 Winter 2012 high fashion runway show from the 24 carat gold leaf he put in the model's hair to the gold shimmer on the eyes done by makeup artist Diane Kendal. Thus, Jason Wu's high fashion runway show was full on glamour and beauty.
